Edison’s Children—the stellar collaboration between Hollywood SFX technician Eric Blackwood, Rick Armstrong (son of astronaut Neil Armstrong), and Pete Trewavas (bassist for Marillion & Transatlantic)—have officially announced their return with their fifth studio album, A Light In Ethereal Night.
The new record serves as the second installment in a sci-fi concept trilogy that began with their 2011 debut, In The Last Waking Moments...
. Picking up exactly where the 15-minute epic "The Awakening" left off, the album follows our protagonist returning to his farm to discover a geometric extraterrestrial crop circle. As the patterns continuously shift, what began as one man's psychological torment quickly explodes into a massive, worldwide public reckoning with First Contact. In an exciting twist, the band has woven real testimony from prominent UFO, UAP, and OVNI investigators directly into the album's soundscape.
Fans will hear the voices of Giorgio Tsoukalos, David Childress, Jason Martell, and William Henry from the History Channel's Ancient Aliens. The Band on the New Release:
Rick Armstrong: "We want the listener to feel what it would actually be like, not wonder from a distance. We want them to experience the mix of awe and dread... the electric atmosphere you'd feel rising up out of the ether!"
Pete Trew
avas: " The moment the world descends on that farm, the story stops being about one man and becomes about all of us. The intimacy of the story explodes into something enormous. As a musician, that kind of intense dynamic shift is everythin g." Eric Blackwood: "We wrote the first album when this subject still made people uncomfortable.
Much has changed. This album feels more relevant today than ever. The world has caught up with the story we were already tellin g."
